Happy New Year – Entering 2019

I was just reading something in an old journal from the “2000s” – which doesn’t feel like that long ago. Now we are entering the last year of the “2010s” and soon will enter the “2020s”.

For me, the biggest reminder of a new year is how fast we are moving in life. And how life doesn’t wait for us. We need to take action and make things happen – not sit back and wait for it to come to us.

But also – we can’t do everything we want at once (at least if you’re ADD and hyper-creative like me) – so that is why I shared about thinking in 5 year blocks. That way we can at least take it one step at a time. But also realize we can die any day, who knows what can happen, so we need to do what is most important to us today.

And for me, that is my family. My kids are going to be 5 years old and 3 years old in 2019 and these are the years I need to treasure. I am not going to be as business pushy this year – but instead I am making decisions based on being able to spend more time with my family. These years are the most important for their brain development, self confidence, self esteem and I am trying my best to make sure they have the best chance to develop who they really are during this stage.

I wish all of you the best in 2019. I am happy to have this personal blog still alive and kicking as a way for me to share thoughts and stories – and sometimes things of more value as well. Cheers!
