“Most People Die at 25, We Just Don’t Put Em in a Box til their 75”, powerful. This is a quote that has been engrained in my mind almost every day. I can’t remember where I first heard it, but I googled it and found a similar variation via Goodreads:

“Many people die at twenty five and aren’t buried until they are seventy five.”

― Benjamin Franklin

Are You Doing What You Love?

Am I doing what I love? Are you doing what you love?

So many times, I’ll speak for myself but I believe many will agree, is that we are doing something we don’t enjoy now, to enjoy the rewards of that later. Which does make sense. But does it?

Should we work in a job we don’t like? Or do a startup we don’t like, or sell a product online that we don’t like – as a stepping stone to get to the next level?

I’m 80% focused on Cross border Summit which is about a month away (feeling the pressure!) but I just wonder – is it what I am destined to do? I love meeting amazing people – and connecting them. So I am enjoying to do this every but I just wonder if that is what I should be focused on.

Because I have something else I am planning to introduce to the market then – the Global From Asia marketplace. I don’t want to distract everyone on it – and I will keep everyone updated on the journey as it gets closer – but it is a great thing I am looking forward to sharing with all of you as I build out the marketplace updates.

Already I have been introducing it to people and collecting valuable feedback. It even spawned off a jobs website from it, as people kept asking me to hire someone in Hong Kong and Asia region.

Just keep pushing forward – but I want to have a location independent work, where I can take my family anywhere and enjoy the time there with them.

The hardest part is the GAP – where you need to do what you love – and not get PAID for it. And keep doing that until you get noticed and big enough that there is monetization there. Sure, some would argue having a business model right away – but I think being passionate about something is the most important thing.

Yet there are 2 parts of being passionate about something:

About the product or service you are delivering – which is the more obvious one.

But the less obvious one is

Enjoying the PROCESS of the building of a business. For example, owners of trash collection companies, do you think they really enjoy collecting trash? Probably not. But they found an opportunity in the marketplace for them to get in, and they enjoy building the business, the processes, and growing it up.
